Operations Relay (OR)

The OR serves as an infrastructure layer facilitating communication between originators, auctioneers and solvers. Each OR will possess distinct characteristics impacting user experience, decentralization, latency, and privacy. The prioritization of these traits is not uniform across applications.

To ensure that applications don’t need to compromise core values like decentralization and permissionless access to use Atlas, developers will be able to choose an OR that aligns with their unique needs. Developers can opt for a highly reputable service provider to assume the OR role, or explore more decentralized options offering high throughput consensus. The OR can employ various techniques to mitigate frontrunning such as hints, artificial order flow, bonding, and reputation.
